We understand many players have commitments with other sports, and we have done our best to consider this where possible. District basketball is the highest level of junior basketball in South Australia, and as one of the leading clubs in the state, these sessions are important to help us place players fairly and accurately.

How Players Are Assessed

For current South Adelaide District players, team placement is not based only on the two internal trial sessions.

Our coaches and age group coordinators consider a range of factors from across the previous season, including:

  • Performance and effort at the 2025/26 Season and Trials
  • Coachability and attitude
  • Attendance and commitment to training
  • Game performance and team contribution
  • Involvement in tournaments such as Eltham, South City Challenge and other club events
  • Readiness to contribute positively to a team environment

NOTE: We also expect all families to support our club standards and values. Parent behaviour and sideline conduct are considered as part of creating positive team environments for players, coaches, officials and other families.

This process helps us make informed decisions and place players where we believe they are best suited for their development and the needs of the team.
